I love this series

I listened from book 1 to the last with avid delight. I was never disinterested or felt the author was prattling on. My only complaint is there is no more! That said I believe it ended well and I feel all the better for having experienced it.

Good but…..

I found that despite some boredom setting in with the constant repetitive explanation of feelings etc that I can say I enjoyed these books. I wanted to know the outcome of all the wars and dangers faced. I feel the books would have benefited from a tighter storyline that removed some of the repetition of feelings. It would have been more exciting with a faster pace. I’m not saying remove these entirely but certainly shorten them. The characters come to life and I can envision this world. I wish we had understood earlier the dark knights background as it would have made the war more real knowing his motivations which in truth were entirely understandable from his point of view. However surely, being a god, the loving Guwee would have known or at the least guessed who the dark knight was and why he went in his warpath becoming evil yet beginning with purer justifiable intentions.
I’m glad I’ve finished but will refrain from books 7 & 8 as currently am bored with the language. The narration from Derek Perkins was as usual excellent.
Not a patch on The Name of the Wind but fair. Could have been greater by far with a tighter edit.

Story a bit predictable

The story was predictable and the plot and characters followed well wore tropes.
Easy listening but didn't set the world on fire
