About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Outside a remote manor house in an idyllic wood, a baby girl is found.

The Harrington family takes her in, and disbelief quickly turns to joy. They're grieving a terrible tragedy of their own, and the beautiful baby fills them with hope, lighting up the house's dark, dusty corners. Desperate not to lose her to the authorities, they keep her secret, suspended in a blissful summer world where normal rules of behaviour - and the law - don't seem to apply.

But within days a body will lie dead in the grounds. And their dreams of a perfect family will shatter like glass.

Years later, the truth will need to be put back together again, piece by piece....

From the author of Black Rabbit Hall, The Glass House is a emotional, thrilling audiobook about family secrets and belonging - and how we find ourselves when we are most lost.

great story, but annoying as the narrator kept referring to the females as him and he and on occasions the males as she and her, very annoying and confusing

She is a him and a he

What a wonderful book. While I figured out a few things before the book did the revealing, there was an ending that tied it up all nicely that I didn’t see coming. So pleased I purchased this one.

Brilliant story

Why in earth would the narrator keep referring to a she as a he?
I thought a man had come into the story and wondered how that could happen. Then realised it was all through the book. Very odd. Otherwise i enjoyed my first novel of Eve Chase

Enjoyed the story but…

Really boring. I really tried but couldn't get more than a quarter of the way through.

It’s a strange but captivating story, and I feel ambiguous about it. It wasn’t a bad story but it wasn’t great either. It’s one of those books you need listen to to decide whether you like it or not.

Beautifully Read
