I looked forward to listening to this book everyday! It was soooo long so I knew so much was going to happen. I think the book should have a different name - this one does not suit! And maybe removing one whole character - nothing was resolved there and it would have made more sense! But overall I really liked it!

German Jewish refugees new life is war torn England’s
This is the second Diney Costeloe novel I have listened to,.She certainly knows how to write a great story
This story is of a young German Jewish girl evacuated to London, from Germany at the onset of WW2. Great characters brought to life by the excellent narration of Bea Holland.
Some may call it older chick lit, knock if you want but it is still a very good story.
I think I will go on to read the sequel to this, called Married girls to see what’s in store for Lise/Charlotte and the other characters.
