Publisher's Summary

At Santa Cruz Central High School, they called them the misfits, the outcasts, the weirdos. But most of us knew them as the Lost Boys....

Miller Stratton is a survivor. After a harrowing childhood of poverty, he will do anything it takes to find security for himself and his mom. He’s putting all his hopes and dreams in the fragile frame of his guitar and the beauty he creates with its strings and his soulful voice.

Until Violet. No one expects to meet the love of their life at age 13. But the spunky rich girl steals Miller’s heart and refuses to give it back.

Violet McNamara’s life hasn’t been as simple as it looks. Her picture-perfect family is not so perfect after all. Her best friend, Miller, is her one constant, and she is determined not to ruin their friendship with romantic complications.

But the heart wants what it wants. As Miller’s star begins to rise to stratospheric heights, what will it take for Violet to realize that she’s the girl in all of his love songs?

Their story gave me all the feels, Emma Scott is a genius at writing stories that break your heart into a million pieces and put it back together, the lost boys series is absolutely brilliant.

Beautiful story and narration

No one's words get into my head and heart like Emma Scott's can. This was a beautiful story of coming of age, first loves, and heartbreak. I both listened and read, and the narration for Violet and Miller was spot on and made the emotions hit even harder. You get just enough of the other lost boys to get sucked into their stories, and I can't wait to read Holden and Ronan's books.

This book has all the feels!

OK, yes, second book by Emma Scott and she managed to make me cry again! This book has all the feelings!
Scott’s narrative is poetic and so deeply emotional it kicks me in the guts and tugs at my heartstrings!
Violet and Miller’s story is one for the yearbooks, they are so perfect and destined together that nothing can keep them apart, not school, not illness, not even themselves!

Really enjoyed but too long

I prefer books 7-9 hours long. I really enjoyed story but too many details and story drug out too long. I loved the female narrator and male was only ok for me. But overall I like.

All in my feels...loved the story

This was such a beautiful and well written story. I loved the characters and their “story” and how they got their HEA. I laughed...I cried...I didn’t want the story to end. The narrations were well done and for the characters.

Just okay....

3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Girl In the Love Song was nothing real special…. It started off good, but towards the end it crashes and burned.

I never developed a connection with the main characters, because I felt the story focused more on Miller and Violet as individuals on what they wanted to do with their lives rather than them as a couple falling in love.

Plus there were a lot of things in this story to me that were far fetch. One being on how young they both were at the time when they wanted to take on that huge responsibility by the end of the Story, it just wasn’t realistic. Another being, Miller’s dad, even though he left them, why wouldn’t he have been paying child support therefore they wouldn’t have lived In a car.

I’m a little surprise on how high the ratings are on this book? 🤨 I can’t say I hated, but I for sure can say I didn’t Love it! It was just okay.

Audiobook Review: I give 5 Stars to both Desiree Ketchum and Nathan Everett for doing a great job narrating.

Wish Miller was my boyfriend.

This was such a sweet, love story. A boy who turns into a man completely devoted to his Violet. Even when a manipulative girl tries to replace her; he stays true to her until the other gives up. This was a very believable story with real life situations. Not crazy about male narrator, but he was just okay.
