Publisher's Summary

A chilling DRAGON TATTOO thriller

Change is coming to Sweden's far north: its untapped natural resources are sparking a gold rush with the criminal underworld leading the charge. But it's not the prospect of riches that brings Lisbeth Salander to the small town of Gasskas. She has been named guardian to her niece Svala, whose mother has disappeared. Two things soon become clear: Svala is a remarkably gifted teenager - and she's being watched.

Mikael Blomkvist is also heading north. He has seen better days. Millennium magazine is in its final print issue, and relations with his daughter are strained. Worse still, there are troubling rumours surrounding the man she's about to marry. When the truth behind the whispers explodes into violence, Salander emerges as Blomkvist's last hope.

A pulse-pounding thriller, The Girl in the Eagle's Talons sees Salander and Blomkvist navigating a world of conspiracy and betrayal, old enemies and new friends, snow-bound wilderness and the global corporations that threaten to tear it apart.

Critic Reviews

Lisbeth Salander is back - and maybe better than ever. Karin Smirnoff's take is both respectful of the past and ready for the future - altogether remarkable. (Lee Child)

Fresh, fearless, faithful and original. Karin Smirnoff takes on a heady challenge and makes a stylish, exciting and truly worthy statement. One of the great crime series of our time could not be in safer, more capable hands. I loved it. (Chris Whitaker)

An absolute incident-packed thrill-ride from start to finish. Karin has taken on the legacy of a legend and done the series justice. (Jo Spain)

Amazing

Great story. Intricate story line but all came together at the end. Another great character in Lisbet’s niece.

Great narration, well written, too vile details

Too many vile details. Good plot, great characters. Salander character seem to have changed a lot which didn't make sense to me and Michael character seem much less appealing than before. Why?
Also lots of unresolved issues as the end came fast and abruptly after everything was slow and detailed. No time to describe Swala's grief? No thank you to Lisbeth? What about Penilla? what happens to her?
But great narrating voice and overall a really good read.

Underwhelming

Not quite a Lisbeth story. Lucky to be included for a third of the book. I didn’t feel the characters were in their true form. Story got there in the end but was disappointed overall

Continue the saga

A good continuation of Lizbit’s ups and downs. Glad I was able to listen to this as the place names would have had me lost.

Pretty good, well worth the listen.

Love that the narrator is Swedish, makes the placnames so much easier to understand!

I felt that the book never really started, then it was action and it was over. A shame but the story itself is pretty good, I just wanted more happenings, more debth, more feeling - more everything.

It was pretty hard to follow but it is an interesting way of writing and I didn't mind it to much.

Mainly Lisbeth

It’s too much like past Salander novels, corruption, greed , bribery, etc. But still quite a reasonable read.

Grattis till Karin Smirnoff

Amazing, exciting and true to Stieg’s first 3 novels. Showing a maturity to our hero and introducing new characters. Loved it.

Disappointed

All over the place. A let down based on previous excellent books. I thought I was missing the point until my wife said the same. Completed only hoping it would get better it didn’t.

Entertaining

Not quite the characters I know but a great plot. Loved the niece too. I liked the narrator though needed to listen quite carefully at times.
Well worth a listen and if there was an 8th I’d read that too.

Not as clear as the other books in this series.

Didn’t particularly like the narration even though it sounded authentic. I found some words difficult to understand. The story was hard to follow.
