Perfect

Ah, Hugh Laurie! He is just perfect for this story. His Duke of Hampshire is up there with his Bertie Wooster and Blackadder roles.

For those who don't know the tale, it is quite a short story but I managed to spin out reading it to my son for about a week of bedtime stories. As a "one-book monthly" subscriber I'm always after the most number of minutes I can get for my money. Roald Dahl is always worth making an exception for, especially when you're just introducing your child to his books.

We were all chuckling away in the car to this one, which is always good.

im 9 and I love the bit where the monkey dances and the boy dances back and the bit where they're cleaning windows and the man shouts that the giraffe can't reach the high windows...when he can!

Well performed childhood favourite

Excellent rendition of what was one of my favourite childhood stories. Hugh Laurie helps being the story to life and it was nice to relive this Roald Dahl classic story. Great one for small kids.
