About this listen

Rachel Harroway, a homicide detective with the ability to see the dead, balances the responsibilities of being a mother alongside her life's calling to guide orphaned spirits home. Teaming up with her long time homicide partner, Jensen Peak, she hunts for the latest crafty killer to strike in her little corner of the Appalachian Mountains. The investigation gets personal when her adopted daughter enters the crosshairs. How far will Rachel go to protect her own? How much will she be willing to give up?

Whilst the stories are enjoyable, and I do like the paranormal plot, it just is not believable. Rachel becomes a tough and experience detective, yet she does stupid things over and over again. You can only get beaten up, attacked and chased by crazed killers so many time, but she still walks into dangerous situations and her partner never seems to be there at the right time to help her. Then there is the issue of them living in the small town of Highlands, with only around 1000 people they seem to have more serial killers than a large city.

The books are not in order, which I knew about from reading the reviews so I worked out which order to listen to them in.
Chapter 32 - The Haunting of Rachel Harroway books - Series 1 - Read by Aundrea Mitchell (Really bad performance, kind of painful to listen to)
Chapter 65 - The Lost Orphans - Series 2 - Read by Tia Rider Sorensen - Good performance
Chapter 1 - The highland Murders - Series 3 - Read by Tia Rider Sorensen - Good performance

Good Stories but not believable
