About this listen

Bennett James has built his career at being the best, on and off the ice, and now it's come back to bite him. The media has turned against him, and with a near career-ending injury, he needs to clean up his act and prove that he's serious about the game. For Bennett, working with his old coach at his alma mater feels like a step back, but it might be just what he needs.

Grace Wentworth has always been the good girl, and she's tired of that stigma. She wants to prove that she can get down and dirty with the best of them. The problem? She doesn't know how.

Bennett will teach the good girl how to be bad, if she pretends to be his goody-two-shoes girlfriend in front of the media. But what happens when the game becomes real?

This story seemed to suck me in further the more I read, great building of tension between the two mains. It was a little slower to start, and I didn’t enjoy a seeming personality change from the male lead mid story. All in all, I enjoyed and loved the ending

Wholesome and feel good. Little slow to start

This was on its way to being a perfectly adequate romance, bit corny, bit obvious, but a perfectly decent read.
Then the third act break up entered the building and look I’m not a fan of the whole third act business, but this one? This one enraged me.
The allegations happened and not for a moment did she stand by her man, her love. This ruined it all for me. We always want the man to be there no matter what, have support for his woman otherwise we rip his character to shreds, well it goes both ways.
Then when she dod decide to go back to him, even though she never believed in him, she waited until he was proven innocent, she has the audacity to list off all the reasons she will make his life better, because she’ll put him in his place, she’ll hold his ego back nuh ah - no grovelling? No huge romantic gesture? Nothing? We would have annihilated the males character for that … nope.

The ending ruined it

I’m so disappointed in this books ending. I loved how main female character was a girly girl, she liked makeup, she liked to dress up. So many books about the odd girl who stands out and is poor. Really loved having an ordinary girl in an ordinary romance.
What totally ruined the book for me was how she didn’t believe him in the end. She allowed her father to throw him out and didn’t try and fight for him. He was too good for her.

85% of the book is great
