Publisher's Summary

With all his family and friends gone, 100-year-old Murray McBride is looking for a reason to live. He finds it in Jason Cashman, a 10-year-old boy with a terminal heart defect and a list of five things he wants to do before he dies. Together, they race against the limited time each has left, ticking off wishes one by one. But when tragedy strikes, their worlds are turned upside-down, and an unexpected gift is the only thing that can make Jason's final wish come true.

Loved this story!

Such a beautiful story. Only drawback was the narration. I loved the narrator’s voice, but there were numerous mispronunciations and the reading was rough ... phrases run together, breaks in the middle of a thought, as if the reader was seeing the material for the first time. The story made it worthwhile to stick with it.

Heartwarming and encouraging!

I don't listen to search for super deep content, I just love to listen to heartwarming encouraging stories that point to the love and tenacity of the human spirit. I love books that challenge me to reach out to others and share even just a glimmer of hope. This book has done those things for me.

Must be a movie!

This book MUST be made into a big screen movie, if not just for the exquisite story, but to also shed more light on the life -giving donor program. Absolutely the best book I have read in years, and I am a voracious reader. Thank you Joe Siple! You are certainly Mr. Dude!

Loved

This was not a book I would usually read/listen to. I do both. Although it was somewhat predictable it really wasn’t if that makes sense. I loved how Joe did such a nice job with age difference and knowledge for each age group. It has all kinds of wonderful life stories. You won’t be sorry if you read this.

loved the story

Did not like the narrator, his changing his voice for the kids did not work for me.

Good story; terrible narration

I loved this book when I read it and so I downloaded the audiobook to share with my husband. He wanted to finish the story - that was the only reason we managed to listen until the end. The narration was just awful. So bad it made us laugh a couple times. Comic relief I guess.
