Publisher's Summary

Can anything or anyone stop the evil?

Lost. Trapped. Chased by monsters and sent on a crazy mission. Not exactly what Jack Gee had in mind when he used to daydream about the apocalypse.

Seven months after the Hemorrhage virus swept across the world, Jack, his wife, Dee, his friend Boss, and the Renegades, a ragtag collection of civilian and military personnel, have been sent on two missions. Jack likes the first: recon. The second is insane: reenter the laboratory they barely escaped from a few months back and retrieve a logbook, a logbook that could provide the cure to end the madness.

Through the chaos, old friendships are tested and new alliances are formed, but new and dangerous enemies emerge in the fight for the future of New Zealand.

My second time.

I guess I forgot to drop a review my first time around. I love the New Zealand setting. These characters are not ones you will forget. Nor the story. I bought this a while back. YOU. LISTENER. CHECK THIS TRILOGY OUT WHILE IT IS FREE.

Then do the author a solid and buy the anthology. This is definitely worth owning.

Great End to a great Trilogy

The action is non-stop yet again! Our heros and new characters we've come to love fight to their last breath to beat off and kill the monsters threatening our society.

Jack and Dee pick up a few more kids along the way as well as their dog who saves them all more than once.

You must read this book. Again, if you are looking at this book, please find the first one, "Rules of Three." The series is great. I wish Amazon would reopen the series and have Smith write more.

Really enjoyed this one. Great ending to trilogy.

If you like post-apocalyptic fiction, this is a great trilogy based on the Nicholas Sansbury Smith Extinction Cycle series. Set in that world, but following the story of New Zealands fight with the genetically altered creatures known as Variantsin. Loved the characters in the book, and the Lord of the Rings and other movie references were great. As a Nerd-Girl myself, i appreciated that. Also loved the Kiwi narrator's accent. Well done series.

Surprisingly terrifying thought.

This book being the third in the trilogy, and wrapping up for the moment at least, does not disappoint. It creates a sort of terrifying thought in the back of your mind that if an apocalyptic event of this magnitude actually were to happen due to the mishaps of science, could the creatures actually become this smart. Would humans. or rather how many, become collaborators with the creatures to save themselves while throwing away any hope for a future for their children, friends, and family. This entire series will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time and this book keeps right on that track!

Extinction Cycle New Zealand Style!

Fitting ending to this 3 book series set in the world of the extinction cycle series but set in New Zealand! The story was exciting and kept my interest throughout. Lots of interesting information about New Zealand imparted to us by the characters fighting for survival against the variant horde. Wished there was more!

Featured and lots of boom.

This was my favorite of the three books. There was no shortage on action and heroics. New variants. New heroes.

Good ending to an excellent series.

In my opinion, this last book is much better than the first book. Maybe it is because I had become used to some things working out in improbably and unlikely manner. Also I had become attached to the characters. I was totally engaged with the story and listened non stop. The series definitely wraps with book three, but there easily could be a series.
