Publisher's Summary

Building on the principles found in his father’s best-selling book The Four Agreements, don Miguel Ruiz, Jr., invites us to gauge how attached we are to our own point of view. In The Five Levels of Attachment, he will help you gain awareness of the agreements you have been implicitly making all these years that shape your reality and affect your future and show you how to release the attachments which no longer reflect who you really are.

This method is 20 years in the making. When don Miguel Ruiz, Jr., began his apprenticeship into his family’s Toltec tradition, he was just 14 years old. His first task was translating his grandmother’s talks from Spanish into English. One day, as he struggled to keep up with her, she asked him: Are you using knowledge, or is knowledge using you?Finding the answer to this question would shape the destiny of his life. In this groundbreaking work, Ruiz explains each of the Five Levels of Attachment in detail and shows that as our level of attachment to a belief or idea increases, "who we are" becomes directly linked to "what we know".

Our attachment to beliefs - our own and the beliefs of others - manifests as a mask we don’t realize we can take off. But with don Miguel Ruiz’s help, and some Toltec wisdom along the way, we can return to our True, Authentic Selves, unhindered by judgment and free to pursue our true life’s calling.

Could help change the world as we know it.

Don Ruiz Jr. has a writing style every bit as wonderful as his fathers. I believe that if this book was required reading for every human being, it could profoundly alter life on planet earth for the better, by curing the disease of intolerance that is running amuck in most societies today. His solution for finding the love and acceptance we crave within ourselves by examining whether we are controlled by knowledge or are using it as a tool to help us in life seems like the perfect way to begin our journey of self discovery.

The information you will read here is profound. It has given me a way of seeing myself and the world that I have been seeking for a very long time. I can now see how everything is Perfect just as it is Now.

One of my favorite books in my collection

What a refreshing book. Regardless of your spiritual beliefs, the Toltec wisdom is fascinating, beautiful, and certainly touched my heart. I will never forget this book. The levels of attachment make complete sense. Following indications in this book I strongly believe can enrich so many lives and make the world a better place.

don Miguel Jr. Message is authentic and powerful!

If you could sum up The Five Levels of Attachment in three words, what would they be?

Weather or not you've read his father's book "The Four Agreements", this book or audio book is one you'll treasure and read or listen to several times. I personally find it a great addition to the Four Agreements, and find that Miguel Jr. delivers a message that is not only informative, but simple to understand.

Outstanding!

Miguel Jr is a great Toltec in his own right. Easy to follow and a great addition to the Four Agreements family. Bravo!

Wayyy too many sports references

I just couldn't stay interested in this book as I did with Ruiz's others. The sports analogies were too much, hence this book jumped the shark for me.

Judgmental tonality

I do not appreciate the authors choice of repeatedly using "vegans" as an example of unhealthy behaviorism. It is very discriminatory and judgmental. I was unable to go trough the book as I was getting tired of hearing judgmental tonality addressed against the same group again and avian being referred to as "vegans". Very obsolete and contrary to objective as you would want a growth book/teaching to be. I do not recommend this as a good read nor him as a good author.

Emotional Intelligence with a Unique Twist

I'm posting this review about 2 years after reading it and BOY I can say its helped me a lot! This book is more practical in explaining how and why people may react to certain things. also based on their life experiences. You really learn to understand and detangle the emotional reactions people have and act accordingly. After reading this I started to see people a lot differently and its GREATLY improved not only my interpersonal relationships... but also myself. Would definitely recommend

Good to read

Find it very self-centred about experience only of him and his own imagery experiences.
