About this listen

Gwen Hill adores Green Valley Avenue. So when the house next door is sold, Gwen wonders how the new family will settle into this cosy community. More than a new home, it's a clean slate for Frankie, who has moved her brood in a bid to save her marriage. To maintain privacy and corral her children, Frankie proposes a fence between the properties, destroying Gwen's picture-perfect front yard. To Gwen, this is an act of war.

Funny, sad and sweet. Characters I wanted to hug one minute and slap the next. I'll look forward to this author's next book. An excellent listen

Loved The Fence

Very good narration by Parkes-Lockwood of a boring and depressing story of neighbours quaralling, failing relationships, thoughtlessness and selfishness. Generational gaps and coming to terms with aging run through this story. There was nothing uplifting or surprising.
Disappointing! I hope the narrator gets some better books to read.

Boring story about suburban quaralling neighbours

Interesting and entertaining read about neighbours and how individuals react to different circumstances in their lives

Entertaining read

I did enjoy this clever story and especially the twist in the tail. I don’t know if the author had a personal axe to grind, re the protagonist’s marriage and her husband’s work at home. That part seemed very unreasonable.
I much prefer stories with no profanity and would love authors to watch that. It was thrilling to read of the refusal to terminate a pregnancy for the simple reason of convenience.
The gardening tips were a lot of fun, adding a lovely touch.

Great story
