Publisher's Summary

2019 - The most up-to-date guide about fatherhood that will encourage you with facts and humor.

The word "parenting" can cause all sorts of nightmares in your head right now, and if it is, congratulations. No seriously, congratulations! This means you’re not an idiot, and you are aware of the difficult task that lies ahead.

Society often tells us dads that our job is to simply provide financial support and leave the caring part to our partners. Well, I’m here to tell you that this is utter nonsense! That whole spiel about how women are biologically attuned to be more nurturing while men are better off running around chucking spears at things? Baloney!

However, the news of having a baby is 10 parts bliss but approximately a million parts terrifying, and I can guarantee you that your partner has her nose deep in all sorts of books on how to get through the next nine months and beyond.

With this book, you will:

Learn about the health of your baby and partner

Get a structured month-by-month overview of everything that’s ahead of you

Get prepared practically and financially

Learn how a pregnancy affects men physically and emotionally, too (without feeling squeamish about it)

Be a better partner and an awesome dad!

The Expectant Dad’s Roadmap is the most fun way to grow as a soon-to-be parent, and your ticket to enjoy this magical time.

Awaken the dad in you!

Few Issues but Overall Alright

The book itself covered most areas of pregnancy and what a dad should expect however there were a few negative themes regarding woman and their emotions that poped up and down through the book. This made it a bit negative to listen to. For the last hour or so there were pretty major jumping issues which made it very confusing to follow. Just as you got tot he end of a chapter or sentence it would skip leaving you on a "the most important thing to remember is...." I would recomend for first time dads who do not have a lot of understanding of what is to come but there are definitly more informative books out there.

Disappointing

I will become a new dad and I Learned nothing new. This is basic stuff, and some ideas of this book go against science. The narration is kind of annoying as well

Great book

Clear, concise advice and tips. The text is funny and the narration is excellent. While some advice may not apply for all couples its a great overview.b

Ridiculous book!

I can't tell what was worse, the terrible narration, or the poor advice given. Extremely subjective, but most viewpoints are stated as fact. A lot of very obvious things are hit on, guess I was just hoping for better insight.

Good Information, Stability issues.

Good info in a concise package, but with about 1 hour and 12 minutes left in the book on there were significant jumping issues. About every 3 minutes there was a narration jump that would greatly confuse the message for the next message. Seems like a data stability issue that audible should work on.

Not great.

It's helpful information if you aren't familiar with anything about pregnancy. The author seems to have a negative bias towards women and their ability to handle emotions during pregnancy.

Great for upcoming dads

This was a great listen. It was very informative and covered a lot, if not all, of the info we as expecting father's need to know. I have been through several other books as well and this book has objectively covered just about everything from all of the others. There are very few slightly subjective opinions in this book. 96% of everything is talking about both sides of every scenario. I recommend this to any expecting father.

Highly recommended for a first time father

This book was well narrated and covered all the topics I had wondered as a first time expectant father. The format of the book is terrific. Each chapter is easy to listen to and I retained a lot of information from this book.

Good for an expected father

I enjoyed the book. There are a few things I would disagree since I have a medical background. But i think it's a good and informative book for expecting dad.

Not for UK Fathers to be ...

Don't get me wrong, it's a good listen and learned some interesting facts and information about getting ready to be a dad but it relates to US fathers to be and what you should expect as a father outside the USA from a medical perspective etc is not relevant to the UK. Also audio issues between chapters 7 and 10.
