Meh....
Glad i finished it, but felt it could have had more. a bit of a rambling tale of darting around the world in a private jet, attempting to sell the value of a life.

Seemed a bit short of ideas where to go with it to be honest - maybe setting up for a sequel where the villains meet justice!

didn't live up to the anticipation
after the excitement of the firm I was really hoping for something similar but it fell really short. it was a long drawn out waiting game without much teeth.

Not what I had hoped for
It was an interesting if repetitive and long winded story but as often happens with Grisham the ending wa a fizzer
I’ve noticed this in some of his other works ,the main body of the story is very well constructed but it’s almost like he wakes up one morning and has to get it to the publisher because he is not a good finisher ,it often seems all too rushed
There are obvious exceptions in his wonderfull repertoire but finishes are not his forte in my view

Disappointed in sequel to the firm
I loved the firm so much I listened to this straight after but I did not enjoy this at all. I wasn’t expecting a hostage story at all and did not enjoy. Suffered through to the end to no satisfaction and will look more at blurbs next time.
