I really tried to like it

I love series about intelligent females who save the day. Eva Rae is mediocre and the storylines were so terrible. I listened to all 5 books (because I bought them before listening to book 1)
The problem is the police/fbi etc are so incredibly stupid and immoral. The behavior of law enforcement to Eva Rae is repetitious in every book - the problem with the 5th book is that if one of those accidental killings had occurred globally all law enforcement and civilians would know which made me cringe that the police kept killing innocent people over and over. I hope the other series are better, but I won’t use a credit again for this series - Eva Rae is a poor example of a working mother with no regard to her children’s health & happiness from day to day - only when something life threatening occurs.

3 and 4 were good but 5 really was irritating

3 Eva Rae is determined to find Olivia, her bratty, naive daughter who was taken at the end of the second book. I couldn’t wait to get this third book because I knew Eva Rae would tear up the world looking for her daughter. She has to go rogue and in doing so puts the smack down on anyone getting in her way. Career be d*mned she will find her daughter and as the months pass she misses Christine, Alex and Matt and hopes that they will love her when she comes out of the end of this war on human trafficking. Fortunately she has help and never give up.
4 There is a lot of emotional situations happening in this book. Chad has moved to Florida and is supporting the children emotionally when Eva Rae goes to meet her father who abandoned her 36 years ago and meet her 25 year old brother who is in a coma and accused of murder and a mass shooting at his high school. Eva Rae looks into the case a discovers anomalies in the details. As she continues to look at the case mote murders occur causing her to stay on the island. She meets her grandmother who implicated her mom in keeping them apart. Even though she’s loved her BF Matt she is now juggling Chad’s desire to get back together. A hurricane is coming and with declarations from Chad and Matt Eva Rae has to make a decision. Looking forward to book 5.
5 I really am so disappointed in the way the character Eva Rae who is a brilliant former Ex FBI Profiler has turned into this self centered, confused and thoughtless person. The crime portion of the book is kind of unbelievable also. If Eva Rae is so d*mn smart why is it no one believes her theories. She has figured out and solved huge cases but in this instance she has to beg even Matt to believe her. Chad was a sh*t who left her but she put him on a pedestal after death. The children get jerked around with Eva Rae traveling to solve important cases but she neglects them right after a huge loss due to crime work. I may have to take a break from this series. I really am irritated and disappointed in her mom skills. She has bonded with her father so she can use him for his hacking skills. The rest of the details are discombobulated black lives matters story, nice attempt but...

Great Series

Her stories are always packed with many cases. She brings you suspects, false information, then manages to tie it all together, to one person. They can be confusing at the different chapters of where and who they are. Her stories are different, and a no stopping is allowed when one starts.
