About this listen

Rosie Harlow is desperately seeking… well, she’s not sure. A romance would be nice but so would a dinner conversation with her pre-teen son. Too bad her boy is way too busy growing up to pay his mama any attention. Rosie never meant to swear off men and she’s not frigid—you don’t become a single mom at fifteen by being frigid—but this dry spell of hers has gotten out of hand and something must be done.

Enter Amon Parrish. Back in high school Amon was voted most likely to get caught with his pants down. He was a trouble maker. The quintessential bad boy. But twelve years away from home, traveling the world and working with Collin Creed doing super-secret (and somewhat illegal) things, changed all that. These days Amon Parrish is a brand-new, stand-up man.

And, to Rosie’s surprise, a romantic man as well. Because he has decided to court her. And this is not just any ordinary courting, either. It’s… well, a page ripped right out of a bodice ripper.

But everyone in Disciple, West Virginia has a secret in their past.

Even the cheerful, perpetually optimistic, and seemingly innocent, Rosie Harlow.

The Echo on the Water is a swooning plate of small-town fiction served up with a side of spice. It honors the themes of friends to lovers, found family, and is filled with bigger-than-life, morally-grey characters against a backdrop of the weird and wonderful.

This was a great follow up to the The Rumble and the Glory. Though a new story there is something going on in the background which ties the books together. We are learning more about the connection between the three towns. Julie is a master of story telling. Wow!

Oh, this book was so sweet, warm, and fluffy. I loved these characters and how their romance played out. Then there is the mystery in the book that JA is known for that just keeps you turning the page to know more. There is so much going one but it's not overwhelming. I am about to jump straight to book 3. I loved it!

I’m loving this series by J A Huss
The audio narration was great, loved these characters as much as Lowan and Collin in The Rumble and the Glory.
Rosie is so fun and Adon is so hot and they both had a depth to their characters not always found in “romance” and the story is ongoing and also resolved in an incredibly satisfying manner.
Thanks again Julie, I can’t wait for more Sacred Trinity stories.

So good, can’t wait for the next book

this story started out a little slower than book 1 and Amon's character was definitely more light hearted and suited to this trinity.
I found it hard to think of him in Creeds category when it came to their past life. however I did get hints of him in book 1.
j.a. huss had literal licence to go anywhere with this second story. she has created a world of old world charm, 70s retro, bad boy bikers, and threw in a sinister bit of political espionage.
The latter keeps the book moving as I kept wondering what it was all about, and even though I learned some more, I didn't learn all, hence book 3.
There wasn't a huge climactic ending like in Creeds story but instead a subtle shift in the towns thinking, the h's ideals,
and most of all the set up for a showdown. (in my opinion anyway.) I mean, there has to be some sort of closure.
there were a couple of twists that opened up other avenues for thought as Rosie floated through her life in this world she created, inside an other worldly place.
The pace of the story was, for me, listened to at an easy jog.
no rush or realisations, just the feeling of easy living and peace, until it wasn't.
Teddy, always brilliant with his narrating and Ava, simply wonderful

small town story with all different kinds if charm and clandestine
