Another Gem from Julia Brannan
This book has become one of my favourites in the Jacobite Chronicles back stories. Lady Harriet is one of those characters that stay with you forever. I laughed and cried through her loves, trials, tragedies and master manipulations. Mary Jane Wells and Will M Watt bring the characters to life with great expression and compassion. Thank you for bringing to life The Eccentric’s Tale.

A fantastic addition to The Jacobite Chronicles!

ANOTHER MASTERPIECE
I love learning history through well-written novels, and Julia Brannan’s are my favorites. She gives such insight into court politics and the desperation of the nobility to curry favor with the monarchy to increase power and prestige. I especially enjoyed the relationship between Harriet and someone who will play an important role with the Jacobites. What impresses me most is Brannan’s ability to create complex, sympathetic characters. I hope she writes several more novels.

Amazing woman with a great story to tell!
This Jacobite Chronicles Story is wonderful historical fiction depicting the life of an amazing woman! Throughout the series I often wondered about Harriet and her life. This answered all of those questions, and so much more. It makes me even more thankful for women like that who pushed for women's rights in their way. I know this is fictional, but I can't help but think it fits many women in that time. Like the rest of the series this is beautifully written and performed. Will Watt is a favorite performer who always delivers and Mary Jane Wells was the perfect fit to bring Harriet to life. I love DUET narration as well!

Harriet -- You are going to love this one!
Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells have done it again -- brought to life one of Julia Brandon's most beloved characters. This time it is Harriet, who rivals sir Anthony with her eccentricities, sharp wit, and courage. It is a fast-paced tale of one woman's struggle to live her life on her own terms while fighting to protect those she loves from the machinations of people of power and the Crown. You are going to love this book!

A different perspective
Learning more about Harriet’s background was delightful. This secondary character in the main series fascinated me, as it was unusual to have such a wealthy, eccentric… feminist in that period. I enjoyed getting to know her better here, but will say that of the books in the series, this was my least favorite as the focus on gardening and horticultural history was a bit tedious. Having said that, however, the narration by Will Watt, who I adore, and Mary Jane Wells, who I also love, was spectacular. Looking forward to the next audiobook.

Interesting characterisation
The excessive swearing and the female narrator playing Harriet as flippant and brash were both overdone. Harriet is brash but hardly flippant. Will Watts' narration was excellent.
