Publisher's Summary

I believe in love. It just doesn’t believe in me. I date. I’m all for giving guys a chance. I’ve just never met the one. Until on a spring morning in the English countryside, a tall, dark stranger emerges from the mist.

Logan Steele is all tousled hair, hard chest, and lips so perfect I want to reach out and touch them, just to check they’re real. I’m sure that’s a thunderclap of chemistry I feel between us. Did I mention he’s an Earl with a self-made fortune? A billionaire who works tirelessly for charity? And he’s so hot, watching him is like staring at the sun. But like I said, love isn’t rooting for me.

When I find out Logan Steele is out to destroy everything I’ve dedicated my life to protect, the chemistry disappears and the hope that had blossomed my chest turns to rage. It no longer matters that he quickens my pulse just saying my name, weakens my knees with a single touch, and that he might just be the greatest kisser that ever lived. I might believe in love, but Logan Steele is definitely not the one.

A stand-alone romance.

The earl of London

Story line good. Always enjoy this male narrator. Female narrator rather difficult to listen to.

Disappointing end to the series

Darcy comes across earlier in the series as smart, sophisticated, charming but unlucky with men. In this book, she appears girlish, immature and petty. I can’t decide if it’s the voice of the female narrator or the story itself. Probably both.
I found the inconsistencies about Darcy’s backstory between this book and the earlier books frustrating.
Honestly, I only managed to listen to the whole thing because I felt invested in Darcy from her appearances in Duke of Manhattan and The British Knight.

wrong choice of narrator

I couldn't get past the first few chapters. I enjoyed other books by this author but the female voice made me feel like I was listening to a kids story, which killed the romance.

I really tried, but couldn't finish

I've really enjoyed all of Louisa Bay's other books, but I just couldn't get into this one. The female narrator sounded nothing like the character of Darcy as she had been portrayed in small sections of the other books from this author. The female narrator sounded like she would have been better placed narrating Peter Rabbit, rather than a romance novel. I've love to have listened to more to get a better idea of the story overall, but I just couldn't.

Great series

An easy read. I happily listened to all of the books back to back. Laughed out loud and cried on occasion.

slow and painful

not the best work by this author. I have been on a binge and this one I'm struggling hard. no amount of skipping chapters is helping. had to call it quits. thank goodness they're a few more to delve into.

Probably the best one of the series

This story was the most believable of the series I think.
Logan’s character is far more sympathetic than some of the other male leads, and his character arc is great.
Performance-wise - pretty decent.
Also really liked Darcy’s character arc. Some of the tropes used for her didn’t feel so tired which was great.
Performance-wise - The vibe from Darcy didn’t seem like I imagine she would’ve if I’d read it, I think her mannerisms felt a little bit older than the character actually was, which was a little off putting for the first few chapters. It made Darcy seem flighty and not quite the powerhouse that she was.
