Story
Captain Cherry Pendit is a very improper oracle. A proper seer warns the hero, then retires to the luxury of her temple while the hero saves the day. Pfft. Boring. Cherry doesn't need a hero to defy fate. In fact, she intends to rescue the hero. There might be a few bumps along the way—like an entire alien species her oracular talent didn't warn her about—but Captain Cherry Pendit of the Delphic Dame is prepared to adapt and overcome. If only the pirates, the good guys—who might be bad guys—and her allies would just stop freaking interfering by pushing their own stupid agendas.

Story
On the outside, Dina Demille is the epitome of normal. She runs a quaint Victorian Bed and Breakfast in a small Texas town, owns a Shih Tzu named Beast, and is a perfect neighbor, whose biggest problem should be what to serve her guests for breakfast. But Dina is...different: Her broom is a deadly weapon; her Inn is magic and thinks for itself. Meant to be a lodging for otherworldly visitors, the only permanent guest is a retired Galactic aristocrat who can’t leave the grounds because she’s responsible for the deaths of millions and someone might shoot her on sight.

I’m rather used to the crazy cases, because let’s face it, most cops can handle the run-of-the-mill with their eyes closed. I’m only called in when the situation is weird or they need to solve the case fast. This case is a little of both. Someone’s attacking women as they get off of work, hitting them in the back of the head. What started as a case of battery has steadily built up to homicide. With three murders, six victims, and no leads, the Clarksville PD are desperate to catch the assailant.

The prequel novella for Amber’s story
- By Tracey T on 09-11-2023
Publisher's Summary
With an un-cursed prince and king back on the throne, Sevana goes back to her usual routine without worry. But her peaceful days don't last for long. A hunter from a small northern village comes to her, pleading for help. The people in his village are disappearing during the night, transported great distances in their sleep, and they don't know why.
Transportation magic such as this hasn't been seen since the days of great magic, hundreds of years past. On top of that, the power levels that Sevana sees are insanely high - far higher than any modern magic can reach. Sevana drops everything, racing toward the small village of Chastain, praying that she can find the source for all of this and stop it.
Otherwise, the magical backlash might destroy Windamere.

Great Adventure
I liked this novel even more than the first one in this series and that’s saying something as I really enjoyed it thoroughly. Sevana is clearly the main character in this one where as she shared the limelight with Prince Bellomi in the first one. I find I enjoyed having her at the centre greatly; she’s so wonderfully snarky. Once again the plot was excellent. The pace just right and the characters engaging. The narrator also continued with her excellent rendition. Having now listen to the two stories over the last two days (including all last night) I am now feeling dry drunk like one of the characters so hope I don’t do anything stupid, like start to read the remaining three books in the series before getting some sleep. It is a possibility.
