Publisher's Summary

Let's be honest: the life you're leading isn't the one you've always dreamt of. And maybe the person you've become isn't who you imagined you'd be. Sure, you can work longer, love harder, and eat better. You can scrub the surface of your life until it gleams. But that won't address the fact that you've somehow lost sight of who you really are.

Working from the core message of Ephesians 1:11, Jo Saxton implores women to reject mistaken identities. Relying on personal stories from her own life, she identifies key scenarios where identities develop that are not true to God's vision, demonstrating the importance of knowing one's name, embracing the gifts you've been given, confronting body issues, managing seasons of depression and grief, and letting go of perfectionism.

Through Biblical examination of texts where identities are in question or being developed, she invites listeners to accept being seen and known by a loving God - and to allow their broken stories to become redemptive ones.

Just what I needed

Dear Jo,

I was first introduced to you in the midst of diversifying my social media feed. I believe in reading deeply and widely to understand the world around me, and the lives of other believers. It was through this avenue I found your book Dream of You. I began the journey via audio book because I had grown to love hearing to you share your heart audibly. About 3 chapters in, as often happens to me with good books, I felt compelled to pop onto Amazon and pick up a hard copy to write notes and highlight. I even ordered a copy for a friend before finishing the book myself. This book was exactly what I needed in the moment I picked it up. Your compassion, authenticity and encouragement reiterated everything I've bee learning about identity the last few years and challenged me to step out from my time of learning in order to pour out and give it! I will admit I have held back out of fear. What will people think? Am I enough? Am I too much? Is my story too much? Good grief it could drive a person crazy (and it has). Thank you for reminding me that I already am who I need to be and that I already have what I need, I just need to keep going back to it. In January of this year, God spoke to me on Ask, Seek, Knock. It was alarmingly loud in my spirit and I still do not fully understand the 'what'. However you have reminded me that the 'what' is not so important as the 'who' and I can trust He will finish what he started. Thank you for singing the song of identity over all of His daughters and reminding us we have purpose and value. Your voice has been a gift 🎁.

Because of grace,

Jan

to dream again

I really took this book to heart as it was the topic of our small group for Fall 2019. I didn't get to participate in a lot of the discussion because I have been unwell and in a different season of life. however, Jo was encouraging and informative. I wish there were a few more seconds between chapters and subheadings. Otherwise, it was great!

She wrote this for me; I just know it!

I was supposed to read this book months ago; I mean like 6+months ago, and for whatever reasons in life, pick one, it got stalled until a few days ago...God reminded me of it after attending IF: Gathering 2019 and I jumped on it. I could NOT put it down, or rather, turn it off on Audible, lol! I am in awe, once again, at God’s perfect timing for my life and how this book sums up the very essence of the battle I am wrestling God for during this season! The words in this book are a true gift. Could she have written it just for me? I know not, but I’ll tell myself so anyway! Thank you Jo, for your candor, vulnerability and deep-rooted skill for cheerleading as you co-operated with God to forge these pages. It is the kind of book that will transcend seasons in our lives; one that will serve us as we revisit its pages again and again as we journey through this thing called life. I thank God for all the ways He helped you find your voice and know your identity for you, my friend, are paving the way to help me reach the same hearts desire! God bless you as you serve us! xo

Timely

I’m using this book for a women’s group and it has change our way of thinking about oneself and how God’s view of us and the importance of it. Not the traditional ten step but a journey that’s helping and broadening our understanding. It’s never to late to learn about oneself and to remain teachable Many thanks to Mrs Saxton

Remember Whose You Are

I am fearfully and wonderfully made...somewhere along my life, I forgot that. Jo Saxton reminds me that I am who God says I am and THAT is what I need to remember. #sayinggoodbyetobrokenidentities
