About this listen
Nico De Kysa. Cold. Detached. Ruthless. And my new husband.
I didn't want to marry the despicable mafia don. But my father made a deal with the devil, and lucky me, I'm the currency.
If I leave… He'll destroy my father's fortune.
But if I stay… He'll obliterate my heart.
In this union, the lines between love and hate are blurred. So blurred.
He's a cold-blooded monster with ice in his veins and frost in his heart. But in bed, Nico De Kysa burns like wildfire. And in the heat of the night, I begin to forget why I hate the mobster.
I'm trapped in a world I despise. With a man too wicked to fall for. Yet, I can't leave.
Maybe if I knew what was coming, it would be easier to run.
The Devil's Den is book one in the De Kysa Mafia series. A scorching hot enemies-to-lovers romance with tension-filled banter and sizzling chemistry. Expect 'touch her and die' vibes, forced proximity, and all the delicious darkness of a mafia romance. No cliffhanger. For mature listeners.

The last few series I listened to could not retain my interest and I couldn't figure out why. They seemed very similar to the previous books I've listened to, but for some reason, I was impatient and skipping through heaps of chapters. I thought it might have been a bad sign of dopamine addiction, that I've listened to so many that my brain has changed and unable to focus on anything but the high dopamine parts.
I'm pleased to say, this book has alleviated my concerns. I found the whole book interesting, didn't skip anything and could not stop listening (ok, I might still be addicted, but my brain is the same as before I started listening to so many books).
On the face of it, there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the books I lost interest in. But, having listened to this one I realise that the way this book is written, I visualise the characters the way the are intended to be portrayed. I LOVE the MMC. I liked the MFC, but she annoyed me in a couple of parts. The dialogue was not repetitive, unnecessary or boring. Every chapter contributed to the story and took me on an exciting journey in my imagination. The book was steamy, without being too much. The story was deep, interesting and romantic.
The performance was great.
I highly recommend this one. Well done Penny Dee.
