About this listen

After failing out of multiple foster homes and narrowly escaping juvenile detention, sixteen-year-old Quinn is undergoing therapy and rehabilitation at a residential treatment center. When Quinn and her best friend, Keisha, sneak onto the roof of the treatment center to look at the stars, they have no idea they’ll be getting a front row seat to the start of the zombie apocalypse.

As zombies, or “carriers” as the news calls them, infiltrate the treatment center, escape becomes essential. Quinn and Keisha make a pact to leave together, but several unexpected tag-alongs complicate their plans.

As the girls battle the carriers and wrestle with their doubts about each other, who will survive and who is just dead weight?

While I might have liked the book I couldn’t finish it. I almost exclusively listen to books, so the narration needs to be good…. This narrator only spoke in one tone and didn’t make use of the punctuation. Basically she just read the entire book in one breath. It made the book really hard to follow. Also I listen to books at roughly 1.7 -2 speed… I have this down to 1.1 and it’s still too hard to follow. If I could give the performance -5 stars I would. If I come across another audio book with this narrator I will not purchase it.

I can’t really rate the overall story fairly as I won’t be reading it. And I absolutely won’t be bothering with book 2 now because the narration is terrible… unless the author has the good mind to hire someone different.
