Get ready for another binge-worthy romance from New York Times best-selling author Elle Kennedy!

College was supposed to be my chance to get over my ugly-duckling complex and spread my wings. Instead, I wound up in a sorority full of mean girls. I already have a hard time fitting in, so when my Kappa Chi sisters issue the challenge, I can’t say no.

The dare: Seduce the hottest new hockey player in the junior class.

Conor Edwards is a regular at Greek Row parties...and in Greek Row sorority beds. He’s the one you fall for before you learn that guys like him don’t give girls like me a second glance. Except Mr. Popular throws me for a loop - rather than laughing in my face, he does me a solid by letting me take him upstairs to pretend we’re getting busy.

Even crazier, now he wants to keep pretending. Turns out Conor loves games, and he thinks it’s fun to pull the wool over my frenemies’ eyes.

But resisting his easy charm and surfer-boy hotness is darn near impossible. Though I’m realizing there’s much more to Conor’s story than his fan club can see.

And the longer this silly ruse goes on, the greater the danger of it all blowing up in my face.

I loved the off-campus/briar u series! This was probably one of my favs as the main characters find each other straight away and their relationship kicks off quickly. Super low angst with a little bit of drama that gets in the way briefly a couple of times.

The book touches on some important issues such as body image/ body shaming & self confidence/ self worth issues. Both main characters struggled with self worth issues but for different reasons.

I absolutely loved the connection with Taylor’s mum & Connor’s coach. Each scene around this development was absolutely hilarious, I couldn’t stop laughing.

My favourite scene from the whole book was when Connor’s step father come to see him. That got me right in the feels. 😭

I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get much of an update of the other characters in this book. We don’t really see much of the previous main characters in this book apart from Hunter, Brenna, Demi & Summer once or twice. I thought being the last book of the series there might be more of an epilogue regarding more of the characters but we only get a glimpse into their summer in California.

Over all I enjoyed the book and loved the narrators. Teddy is my fav!!!

Low angst, fast past read

I still enjoyed Conor and Taylor’s story, and there were plenty of sweet and funny moments, but I just didn’t connect with it as much as some of the earlier books.

The chemistry was good, the writing was as addictive as ever, and it was lovely catching up with familiar characters. It just didn’t leave the same lasting impression on me as books like The Play or The Risk.

Overall, it’s still a solid read and a nice way to wrap up the series—just not my standout favourite.

This was a good read, but it wasn’t one of my favourites in the Briar U series.

I just finished The Dare by Elle Kennedy and honestly, it was such an emotional and fun read. The audiobook narration made it even better the voices, the pacing, everything felt so natural and really pulled me into the story.
I absolutely loved Conor Edwards. His character had so much depth, and his story felt real and genuinely touching. You could really see his growth, which made me even more attached to him.
The overall storyline was engaging and addictive, but I have to admit, Taylor was lowkey a bit annoying at times. Still, her character didn’t ruin the experience it just made some moments a little frustrating.
Overall, it was a really enjoyable listen with great emotion, strong characters, and a story that keeps you hooked. Definitely worth it if you’re into romance with a bit of heart.

Overall A Good End To This Series

The story was OK, but the female narrator was no whiny and nasally that it completely ruined the story.

Female narrator ruined it
