About this listen

Can a cyborg let go of the wife he lost and make a stowaway his bride?

There's a problem on the Gypsy Moth. Craig "Crank" Abrams has found a stowaway. A tiny one who tucks easily under his chin with the biggest damned eyes he's ever seen - and a way of tugging at a mechanical heart he thought broken.

Ghwenn has secrets, which is why she's on the run and hiding. When her enemies catch up to her, she finds an unlikely hero in the cyborg who refuses to hand her over.

I actually like that Eve Langlais doesn’t try to drag a simple story out into a full length novel. These books are snack sized.

The people in this series are cute. There is nothing more fun than a stubborn man falling in love. I didn’t particularly like the female lead, but the book wasn’t really about her anyway. When the two lovebirds first meet is pretty amusing, as he basically (minor spoiler) sulks when he is not allowed to jettison her out the airlock.

The narrator is much improved in this book, compared to his annoyingly repetitive speech rhythms in First Mate’s (WHY do some narrators do that? So unnatural!), although he still doesn’t have a broad range of ‘voices’ for different people.

Like fast food - quick and filling, but not gourmet

I didn't mind the concept of the story at all I just think the progression of the romance was to quick and didn't make me connect all that much with the characters. that being said it is a nice quick story if that's your thing.
the narrator wasn't to bad, slightly monotone on occasions.
