Has she been sent to save the realm or destroy it?

As Spymaster to the Queen, Aya's blood oath ensures she protects those she fights alongside - including Will, the Queen's Enforcer and Aya's bitter rival.

When rumors of dark magic rise in a nearby kingdom, both are sent to investigate.

But when Aya's power acts beyond her gods-given affinity, she risks being turned into a weapon in a war she doesn't know how to win.

And when her relationship with Will unexpectedly shifts, neither know the danger that will follow...

Fantastic voice work.

I’m going to start this with a gentle reminder: this is the first book of a trilogy. You are going to be sorely disappointed if you approach it as a standalone book and not Act I. The romance is a rivals/enemies to lovers slow burn. Some of the book reviewers seemed to forget these two points.

I binged this. Coomber’s voice acting helped (although there were one or two points where I couldn’t figure out who was talking, but it came right in the end). I will absolutely listen again, and I cannot wait for Book 2/Act II.

The world building is good, the character development is realistic. The narration was spot on.

But then I adore grey characters and plot twists.

It’s worth the listen. Thumbs up.

Interesting!

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

I did find it a bit slow in the beginning and the magic system was a little confusing as it was so detailed - but one I wrapped my head around it all it was great and I was hooked. I'm definitely keen to see Aya and Will again in The Curse of Sins.

”It was as if his darkness had called to hers, and she hadn’t been able to resist responding. And for that, she hated him.”

What you’ll find in The Curse of Saints:
🖤 Enemies to lovers
🖤 Morally grey characters
🖤 Deadly Magic
🖤 Chosen one trope
🖤 Forced Proximity
🖤 He falls first
🖤 Slow burn
🖤 Knife to the throat

"I saw you walk down those stairs...and I wanted you so badly that I thought I might set this whole godsforsaken world on fire just to have you."
