Publisher's Summary

Now a major BBC drama: The Strike series.

When a troubled model falls to her death from a snow-covered Mayfair balcony, it is assumed that she has committed suicide. However, her brother has his doubts, and calls in private investigator Cormoran Strike to look into the case.

Strike is a war veteran - wounded both physically and psychologically - and his life is in disarray. The case gives him a financial lifeline, but it comes at a personal cost: the more he delves into the young model's complex world, the darker things get - and the closer he gets to terrible danger....

A gripping, elegant mystery steeped in the atmosphere of London - from the hushed streets of Mayfair to the backstreet pubs of the East End to the bustle of Soho - The Cuckoo's Calling is a remarkable audiobook. Introducing Cormoran Strike, this is the acclaimed first crime novel by J.K. Rowling, writing under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

Superb Narration

Would you consider the audio edition of The Cuckoo's Calling to be better than the print version?
Yes....I really enjoyed the voice characterisations. I think there has been and excellent job done with the narration. It added much depth to the story.

What other book might you compare The Cuckoo's Calling to, and why?
I'd say it has the grit of Rankin and the ' detective-ness' of Bosch.

Which scene did you most enjoy?
Hard to say....many gems through out the story. Lots of descriptive vignettes to make me clearly picture the action and characters.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I did laugh but I also experienced the the tension of waiting for the other shoe to drop as the plot peeled away.

Any additional comments?
I listen to a lot of audio books and Robert Glenister is absolutely one of the best narratators! I'm going to go and buy other books he has narrated whether or not I like the authors! He really brings it to life. Going to buy the rest of the Cormoran Strike books too of course.

Looking forward to the next one.

Felt like the introduction went for a long time. But it helped with knowing the characters and building to the ending. The narrator was excellent.
