Publisher's Summary

Called "The Preacher", Clay Stryker has lived a life as straight as a North Dakota highway. Everyone thinks the pen and notebook he carries around is to jot down poetry or possibly notes on Scripture. They don't know he has a secret romance.

Reina Hall has never forgotten the night she was rescued from a child trafficking ring. She definitely hasn't forgotten the man who wouldn't back down, who refused to look the other way, and risked his life to save hers.

He made a promise to her. And she's riding west to make sure he keeps it.

Great!

As I’m beginning to expect, Dyess takes a wonderful book and makes it into an even better experience. I’m sincerely impressed with the little girl voice. :) There was so much happening in this story with the backstory and some secrets and all the characters. I’ve got to say that Clay is a bit of an idiot, but this story wouldn’t be half as good without that.

Story:
Wow. These books just keep getting better and better. This book was..just..wow. I don’t have the words. From their histories and the women and the families and friends and everything else.. it was incredible. I didn’t want it to end! But I am beyond pumped for the next book!

The Cowboy's Secret Romance

very interesting story line. Mr Dyess is a Good MALE narrator. A little suspense in "how" things would work out for Clay and Angela.

Why settle when you can have it all?

With so many books out there that fit solidly in the sweet but swoon worthy category, it’s an absolute pleasure to find a sweet, swoon worthy book with built in substance also. Written with a Christian point of view, this story gives good but still imperfect characters a chance to find a deeper relationship with Christ as they walk out a better relationship with those around them.
Even though I have read and enjoyed this title on my kindle, I was gifted this audible version with no strings tied. Being able to listen to a great story told by an extremely gifted reader brought the story to life in a totally different dimension! Sometimes I need a pleasant diversion as I work through mundane or repetitive tasks and being able to enjoy this is a real treat.

Sweet, laugh out loud romance

Jessie absolutely makes you laugh out loud with the quick humor and easy banter between characters, especially around the evening meals. Anyone who has ever struggled with cooking will appreciate the various scenes of failed meals.

Jay is simply amazing. His voice holds so much depth. His timing is spot on with the bantering, the anger, and the apologies.

So much fun!

I really enjoyed getting to know the characters in this story. Clay was a person I could really admire, but he felt very real at the same time. The whole story was enjoyable, engaging and inspiring. Human trafficking is such a serious problem and this story gives a believable scenerio in which an everyday person could make a huge difference by being aware and not ignoring signs. This was a small but powerful part of the story. The girl's recovery was inspiring as she learned to see the world through new eyes. Very enjoyable story.

Another great book

This is another book in the Sweetwater Ranch Series and I enjoyed this one as much as the others. Clay (they call him Preacher) has been romancing what he thought was the love of his life but her parents were making it hard for him to see her. All of a sudden things change.

This is one of those books that would be really easy to leave spoilers while writing the review. I will leave it at this. Between Jessie Gussman's outstanding writing and Jay Dyess awesome narrating this is a great book that you won't want to miss

Second chance for love

This is a good, interesting story of Clay & Reina. It takes Clay a while to figure out he really loves her. He is keeping a secret about his daughter from here also. A very well written story showing Clay's commitment to Reina. I received a free copy from the author. This is my voluntary review.

Unique clean western romance

This is the second book in the series that I have heard. While the book is independent of the others, the main male character and a part of this story is presented/set up in book 6 (but it is not necessary to read book 6 to fully get this book and I actually enjoyed this story more than book 6 - Cowboy's Fairy Tale). I really enjoyed this story. It was a unique story line. The main character is nicknamed Preacher and there is some reference to faith/belief in God and a couple of Bible verses quoted or mentioned but it is not preachy or trying to get you to change your personal beliefs in my opinion. The storyline was unique and refreshing. The narrator was fantastic. The narrator gives the main character a smooth but also rough cowboy voice simultaneously which had me drawn in immediately. KUDOS. I look forward to listening to/reading additional books of the series. I received a copy of this audiobook from the author at my own request and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Jay Dyess,performs/narrates, this story brilliantly. Bringing these characters to life.
I don't want to give spoilers for this, I want to give listeners the chance to immerse themselves in a beautifully written, expertly narrated romance.
I think,so far, this is my favourite audiobook out of all the,Sweet Water Ranch, Western Romances, that it has been my absolute privilege to listen to.
