If you're a marketer you must listen to this

Practical, useful, entertaining and insightful. This is the best marketing audio book I have ever listened to. Mark breaks down exactly what's needed to make great shareable content and at the same time gives priceless insights into the world of digital marketing. His reading style is very enjoyable, friendly and easy to listen to.

May be relevant, but very difficult to listen to

While I have found many good bits of information in this audiobook it has been extremely difficult to get through. I believe it is the author who is reading himself and how and where he chooses to pause and put emphasis doesn't seem to flow very well with the content.
This is my seventh audiobook but the first that failed to keep my attention while listening. Schaefer does provide some very useful tidbits, but I can't help but wonder if I should have bought the hard copy of the book rather than the audible.
Many chapters are filled with list upon list of tips advice, and ideas, however often times by the third point I've completely lost sight of the list topic and he generally makes no effort to remind the listener of the relevance.

I read this book because I wanted find better ways of getting my content and brand to people who are more likely to read my content and hire me for services. This book is packed with ideas, strategies, and suggestions for doing just that. I am now on my second read to more thoroughly dissect and incorporate the author’s thoughts and suggestions into practices. Read this book if you are ready to go to the next level in reaching your target market.

Didn't want to skip any sections....

What did you love best about The Content Code?

Solid useful content throughout the whole work. Usually I skip sections, but in this case I was afraid I would miss something useful. You'd think this guy was a content marketer or something!!

What other book might you compare The Content Code to and why?

I like non-fiction, real-world, how-to books (and apparently hyphenated words) that give you real road-maps and resources to help you succeed. Reminded me of Tom Peters' Thriving on Chaos with all of the real world stories of case studies and results but focused on Content Marketing.

Any additional comments?

I recently attended a webinar with Mark as the main presenter. Seems like a genuinely good guy with great experience and knowledge to share. Very helpful to a small biz guy like me looking for mentors and knowledge. He puts it all out there on the blog and in social media, but I still recommend spending a few bucks to buy the work to use as a resource/reference.

very informative!

I love this book mainly because Mark spoke to everyone and not just social media savvy people. If you do not know anything about social media this would be a great book for you to have in your library.

Mark delivers real value!

This was a great read from Mark Schaefer. The book was a great blend of conceptual and tactical information delivered in an easy to follow and listen format. I do marketing and create content for a living and I found a lot of value in each section. This is well worth the read if you want to understand both content marketing as well as how to grow your audience or if you want some inspiration to take your efforts to a new level.

Truly Remarkable

To say marketers are full of fluff, unfounded optimism and compulsively herald the next new thing, regardless of if it comes true or not (Google+) would be a gross understatement. Luckily you won't find any of that here!

The candor and down to earth advice in this book can't be overstated. This is by far one of the better books you'll listen to all year. I recommend it enthusiastically!

good 'inspiration' book but...

this is a excellent book for getting you excited about content marketing. my only comment (just in case the author reads these) is I'd have liked a few more detailed actions to take away with me. very knowledgeable individual however and well worth a listen.

Definitely worth a listen!

Mark's book is not only full of useful tips on how to get your content out there. His manner and delivery is also humble and easy to listen to. if like me, you enjoy this kind of topic, then this book should absolutely be on your wish list.

Learned Some Gems

Really enjoyed the sincere and genuine delivery of the author. I generally only like to buy audio books where the writer is narrating. It adds credibility and punch.

Whilst Mark Schaefer covered many content marketing pearls of wisdom I've learned before, there were some fresh and insightful twists.

Externally useful and relevant book. This will be one I re-listen to.

You can't get better than that.
