Publisher's Summary

The Dollmaker was the name of the serial killer who had stalked Los Angeles ruthlessly, leaving grisly calling cards on the faces of his victims. Now, with a single faultless shot, Harry Bosch thinks he has ended the city's nightmare.

But the dead man's widow is suing Harry and the LAPD for killing the wrong man - an accusation that rings terrifyingly true when a new victim is discovered with the Dollmaker's macabre signature.

So, for the second time, Harry must hunt down a death-dealer who is very much alive, before he strikes again. It's a blood-tracked quest that will take Harry from the hard edges of the L.A. night to the last place he ever wanted to go - the darkness of his own heart.

With The Concrete Blonde, Edgar Award-winning author Michael Connelly has hit a whole new level in his career, creating a breathtaking thriller that thrusts you into a blistering courtroom battle - and a desperate search for a sadistic killer.

Narration and story in perfect harmony

Dick Hill has to be the perfect narrator for Harry Bosch stories.
The special effects he uses are so convincing that it’s like watching a film in your mind.
Great stories deserve great narrators.

Plenty of twists to keep me guessing

2020 appears to be the year I finally work my way through the Bosch series of books. I've read some of the earlier ones soon after release but it's been so long, they are like new books to me.

I really enjoyed CONCRETE BLONDE. The twists and turns in the case kept me on my toes and had me engaged throughout. We also see a softer side to Bosch in this book as he works through his feelings for a woman in his life.

I thought the book narrated by Dick Hill was enjoyable. He kept up the momentum and pacing of the story. Character voices were distinct, and while his female voices sometimes lost focus, overall he did a good job.

Classic Bosch - labours to it's conclusion

great storylines - I just found the end labored a little, Harry is such a cool character.
the narrator does a good job with character voices - really good in fact
