Narrator Daniel Thomas May gives an animated performance of this collection of Christmas stories beloved by children. Giving each tale its own style of narration, May's lively voice rises and falls with drama and easily holds the listener's attention.

Listeners will find themselves moved by the sentimentality brimming in quite a few of the stories, from the fir tree's sad fate in The Fir-Tree to the little star's search for someone with whom to share his light in The Christmas Star. I’m glad I listened to these but there were a lot of the same and two times the same part of A Christmas Carol-annoyingly the actor said potatoes like the English tomato, does anyone actually say potatoes like that? Maybe we should call the whole thing off?!
