Publisher's Summary

Enid Blyton's timeless collection of farm stories, perfect for holidays or rainy days, and an ideal gift for anyone who loved the stories during their own childhood to pass on to the next generation of listeners.

Benjy, Penny, Rory and Sheila are spending the holidays with their aunt and uncle at Cherry Tree Farm. They play with the animals and learn to feed them, roam the countryside and hunt for the mysterious Tammylan, who lives deep in the woods. Everywhere is teeming with adventure and the children are bound to get into mischief!

This collections brings together some of Enid Blyton's earliest and most imaginative stories - The Children of Cherry Tree Farm (1940) and two further stories about the same children, The Children of Willow Farm (1942) and More Adventures at Willow Farm (1943).

New recording by Abigail Hardiman.

Great stories, fantastic value.

My kids (10,9,7,5) listened to this over a 3 day-straight period when we all had a nasty flu. It was a life saver as it gave them something to concentrate on both distracting from their symptoms and from niggling at each other too much. They love the stories (as do all Enid Blyton's work) and it was nice to hear lost of information on animals and farming.
My only criticisms are that there was an occasional error in information presented (eg. snakes being referred to as poisonous rather than venomous) and a silly personal dislike of one of the main characters names - Tammylan - it just didn't sit well with me, although it didn't seem to bother the kids. All I'm all it was a well spent $15.

This story collection and Galliano’s Circus are such good classics still suitable and engaging for kids today. So grateful for these titles. :-)

Recording changed for worse

I love the book because it has taught me a lot about animals and what there life looks like, but the recording has been changed for the worse and I wish that I could have kept the old version. Some of the things that I dislike about the new recording are that the voice of Tamilan (the wild man) is very different to what I would imagine it would sound like and is just not right, also some of the other characters voices were changed so that I thought that the characters voices all sounded very similar, but also I loved how in the old version Benji’s voice was a little like Tamilan (the wild man) voice but in the new one Benji’s voice should sound more calm because he was very good with animals but instead his voice tone was high pitched. But I really enjoyed the story and as I said it has taught me a lot about animals and how they live but has also taught me how to be quiet when animals are around me, with a love of animals this book has been perfect for me.
