About this listen
She went to argue about peach trees.
Instead, she walked into a war she’s been building for years.
Gabriella “Bree” Worrington is the U.S. Attorney leading the case against the Orion Syndicate. She didn’t expect her sharp-tongued new neighbor to be entangled in it—let alone at the center.
Seren Doyle has spent her life inside her family’s empire, even as she quietly works to dismantle it from within. When her position fractures and the walls close in, the last person she can afford to trust is the woman trying to prosecute her.
But circumstances leave them with no choice.
Forced into uneasy proximity as violence closes in, Bree and Seren find themselves confronting more than external threats. Lines blur. Loyalties shift. And the attraction neither planned becomes impossible to ignore.
Because sometimes the most dangerous conflict isn’t between the law and the criminal—but between two women who were never meant to choose each other.
The Chase is a sapphic romantic suspense about power, responsibility, and falling in love when every decision carries a cost.

Good plot

The story starts off as if both of the women were straight , married women with kids who live in a normal neighbourhood. All of a sudden, you're thrown into the "drama" and the second women just goes along with the first women's plans like she doesn't have a whole life.
There didn't feel like there was a whole lot of chemistry between the two women. Apparently, they found themselves involved but I dont really know when it started. It felt a little forced.
The narrator didn't hold my interest and the extra breathing noises were a little distracting.
The idea of the book is interesting, but I think with everything else it all just felt muddled.
