About this listen

When a sink hole opens up near the Australian outback town of Pintalba, it uncovers a pristine cave system. Sam joins an expedition to explore the subterranean passages as paramedic support, hoping to remain unneeded at base camp. But, when one of the cavers is injured, he must overcome paralyzing claustrophobia to dive pitch-black waters and squeeze through the bowels of the earth.

Soon he will find there are fates worse than being buried alive, for in the abandoned mines and caves beneath Pintalba, there are ravenous teeth in the dark.

As a savage predator targets the group with hideous ferocity, Sam and his friends must fight for their lives if they are ever to see the sun again.

Fortunately, I found "The Cavern" in the included with your membership section and discovered a new author. The Australian narration made the story more enjoyable and authentic. The premise has a potential for a great series.

I loved this book, exciting and terrifying.
I really loved the fact it was located in Australia in the outback about Australians with a Aussie accent. The narrator was great too. I will be reading more from this author. This would make a great movie.

Great Aussie horror

blood awful Australian accents and mediocre predictable story line. Hopefully the next effort is better

predictable

Inflections used in every sentence were distracting and frustrating to listen to. Story was a bit of a high school horror but a good enough romp.

Bit of a romp

I enjoyed this book, the accent was just right and added the flavour to bring the story to life.

so Australian

The characters are super well developed and pull you into the story incredibly well, making the impossible breathe and feel like you should never enter any kind of cavern ever.

A chilling and well designed romp

while I can very much appreciate what the author was trying to do with the story, it reads very much like they are just telling us a story and not showing us which makes the whole thing a bit of a slog unfortunately.

Not a brilliant story, made pretty much unlistenable by the appalling Aussie accents utilised. I AM Australian, and even bogans don’t sound like this.
Story itself may have been better with some editing and refinement. Too many plotholes - in a small town, wouldn’t the townspeople notice the sheer volume of individuals going missing in mysterious circumstances?! Just one example!

Halfway through, but it’s looking like a DNF. Life’s too short for books like this.

The worst Aussie accents ever.
