The law of club and fang<br />

My girlfriend lives on Third St. in SF close to where Jack London was born. And recently I've taken a big Bay area interest. This audio book was my introduction to Heinold's Saloon's honored apparition. And if if Buck could choose only one narrator to read his story, my money is on this performance.

Amazing reading and writing.

Beautifully read, thoughtfully descriptive story of a domesticated dog that goes on to become powerful husky pack leader. His extremely different lifestyles, from one owner to the next.

Violent!

Children and tenderhearted dog lovers beware. This is not the book for you. It is absolutely fascinating, as told through the dog's eyes, but extremely violent! Mary Sarah Agliotta is a fantastic narrator, and really brings the story to life. Just difficult to listen to some of the content

Better than expected

I was surprised given how cheap this is that this seems to be the best recording of this story. In fact, the narrator does quite a good job, a couple of random unusually pronounced words notwithstanding.

I finally read this because it's on all those lists of the top 100 novels. It certainly wouldn't be on my list, but I ultimately came to see why it's so loved, even if I thought the first half was pretty dull.

Great Story but the Narrator is Excruciating

The narrator must be paid by the minute because she reads at a painfully excruciatingly slow pace. I had to set the speed at 1.25 to get it to sound normal.

Not a Jack London fan

This was my first Jack Landon book, it was OK but just not that impressive. The narrator had an odd distant manner, kinda of airy, I didn't care for her style.

I really dont think anyone could have narrated this book better... That being said her Narrating the store coupled with superior, classic stortelling makes this book an all time classic. Classically wonderful

This is a beautiful classic story. Wonderfully written. Superbly Narrated. I'm not one to read animal fiction genres but I did enjoy this book.

Breathless whispering+shouting=ears ringing

One of the worst narrators I've heard in an audible audiobook. Competent but lacking voice control. She shouts into the mic intermittently while doing a breathless whisper most of the time (omg isn't my voice so sexy?). I will never listen to this piece again.

An enjoyable reading of a classic tale

Jack London is unparalleled at bringing the wilderness to vibrant life. The brutality, determination and eventual freedom of Buck's change from an adored pet to a wild creature is perfectly depicted.
