I’ve already read the series in paper but it was still good revisiting the series in audio form. A bit startling to hear characters I think of as Vikings from an icy land talking with what sounds like a Jamaican accent.

I enjoyed the story and reader but it was all spoiled by the ridiculous ‘music’ between each chapter. I found it most irritating, ridiculous and completely unnecessary. If it continues in the next book I will have to think seriously about buying any more. The books aren’t cheap, last 1/3rd of the time most other books go for and it completely takes away from the story.

Having read this series before as books, I love the simplicity of these books, easy to read, captivating and just fun. Everything has been great, up until the Scandians, who are from the frozen northland and obviously cliché vikings speak in a... Jamaican accent. Not sure why the Narrator would make this choice, I know they will be in the following books, and I hope the narrator rectifies this, but I don't have that much hope. Nevertheless, this one slip does not ruin a great story.
