Publisher's Summary

A young British prince John visits rural Pennsylvania as part of a royal visit with his family over the Christmas period. They visit an Amish community as a spontaneous part of their tour so the party were not surrounded by press and security.

Prince John was getting bored, and was kicking a stone in the dust on the edge of a tour of the community, when he notices a young Amish boy of a similar age named Abe. They get talking and realize how similar they look to each other. In fact, over the next hour, they talk and like each others' company. They talk about the differences in customs over Christmas.

The set of events that follow see both young boys taken out of the comfort zones, family, and culture in ways that both inspire and terrify them. When the royal party are due to fly back to the UK, things come to head.

Will the young prince want to leave the community, and will the Amish boy want to give up the luxury that royalty can provide?
