When Pierrot becomes an orphan, he must leave his home in Paris for a new life with his aunt Beatrix, a servant in a wealthy household at the top of the German mountains. Another view of the war and the participants. Gives insight into how people got swept along, which is something That is a struggle to understand. Well written, well narrated.

I enjoyed listen to how the main character acted when growing up myself, but the sad moments in the story still affected me. In the end though I still found the story interesting.
