Through the intervention of a doctor who treats Violet who has fallen ill, the children meet their grandfather. Unlike their erroneous perception of him, their grandfather turns out to be a kind man; they move in with him and the beloved boxcar a playhouse in the back yard. The book was adapted as the film The Boxcar Children in 2014.

Nice feel good story.

Old favorite

This is an old favorite of my children. It was fun to listen to it on Audible.
