Publisher's Summary

There are four basic questions that confront each of us: Who am I?; where did I come from?; why am I here?; and where am I going when I die? Your eternal destiny will be determined by your “world view” in addressing these issues. And there are really only two world views: either everything - including you - is the result of some kind of cosmic accident, or this is all the result of a deliberate design by a designer. This issue could not be more fundamental.

It comes as a shock to many to discover that every major theme and doctrine in the Bible has its roots in this “Book of Beginnings”: sovereign election, salvation, justification by faith, believer’s security, separation, disciplinary chastisement, the Divine Incarnation, the “rapture” of the church, death and resurrection, the priesthoods (both Aaronic and Melchizedekian), the antichrist, and even the Palestinian Covenant, which is being challenged by the continuing tensions throughout the world today, all have their roots in this critical foundational book of the Bible.

Breakthroughs in the fields of physics, technology, and biology led Chuck Missler to record this wonderful study in Genesis. With over 24 hours of teaching, this verse-by-verse study of the book of Genesis has been one of our most sought-after and best-selling series in the history of Koinonia House.

My third audiobook by Chuck

I’ve listened to; Learn the bible in 24hrs and the book of revelation commentary prior to this book. I’m now listening to the book of Romans. Big fan of Chuck’s, I highly recommend and enjoy his work. Will continue listening to more as I get through them.

My Favorite Book of Genesis Study

I was sad when I finished this audiobook!

The late, great Chuck Missler has been my work commute partner for the past few months. Chuck has read me the Book of Isaiah, Ezekiel, Revelation, and now Genesis.

I would rate every single one of Chuck's audible audiobooks as five stars. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God.

Insightful

I am agnostic, generally speaking. But this book helped me see Genesis through a different lens. I have a new respect. And am on my path to believing.

I gave it a good try

I’ve been really looking for a deep dive into Genesis, and though I was somewhat reticent based on some of my own research into Mr Missler, I thought he had some interesting perspectives. Though I certainly didn’t agree with his take on science: he’s a young earther and an anti-evolution guy. I grew up not in church, but watching Carl Sagan. I found Christ just prior to high school. I have no problem at all with the tension between science and faith—I believe there are great mysteries in the creation of the cosmos, & there are truths so deep that only poetry can hold them. So I made it through the chapters on creation because I didn’t need to agree with everything Mr. Missler said for me to find good.

It was in subsequent chapters when he repeated over and over “it’s Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve!” Ok, homosexuality is not Biblical, but compassion, love, mercy, and grace ARE Biblical.

Then we get to marriage when he starts talking about husbands as the head, hierarchy, and chain of command—wife is the XI, but husband is the skipper. Ok, maybe I can still hang in because I really have also found some good nuggets. Then he JOKES he’s prepared to lose a significant chunk of his audience talking about male headship. Can I guess which half?? THEN he says “Now girls, try to bear with me...”

Nope, I’m out.

Try strong, intelligent, seminary-educated WOMAN who is a Devoted follower of Jesus, and is currently looking for a new Bible study.

Good study from a scientific perspective.

Enjoyed the Book of Genesis from a viewpoint of science which doesn't refute it as a Book of Faith but rather strengthens it claim.
