Story
The life of a Bomb Girl isn't usually glamourous. But Maggie is getting married, so she is going to make sure her wedding day is - even if she does have to spend every other day slaving on the factory floor. This blasted factory was not what Julia had in mind either. She had always dreamed of attending Oxford University rather than getting her hands dirty, and the easy laughter of the other women intimidates her terribly. But they are all here together in this munitions factory in a Lancashire mill town, sharing firsts, pitching in and getting on. These Bomb Girls are going to do their best at work and in love.

1945 - the war in Europe is over. It should be a time of utter joy and celebration. Most women can't wait for their men to return, but in the small town of Rivenshaw in Lancashire, Judith Crossley fears having her husband back in the house. He'd grown into a bully and a drunkard, and on the occasions he'd come home from leave, he'd hit her. He wasn't a good father, either. Feel-good story of friendships
As tends to happen with Daisy's novels, I'm sad to leave the characters behind from this book.
There's 3 main bomb girls whom we really get to know, and their individual stories are equally as important, and have their own resolutions. Yet there is still a cohesive feel to the overall story, linked as it is to the performing of music.
It doesn't matter to me that certain parts of the story are predictable, that happens at times, but it gives a familiarity and comforting feel. And I still wanted to know exactly how things turned out.
Anne Dover narrates this one, and hope she does any future daisy styles books too!!
This is definitely a feel good story, with true friendships seeing the bomb girls through hard times. Really liked it.
