Summary
Young Mica Silverthorne is dragged from his home to fight in the Three Border Wars for his king. Mica is not like the others recruits. He is not the son of nobility or a wealthy merchant, but from a small village where they raise pigs. It's soon said he's a willing killer that wields a knife like an assassin.
However, his fame is undeserved. The deeds are contrived lies and exaggerations. His attempted explanations are confused with humility. He is ordered by his king to capture the impregnable fortress known as Cyan Castle. Everyone knows the task is impossible. Everyone but Mica.
