Highly recommend if you like crime fiction

An excellent story well told. Brilliant writing style. Scottish accent the only let down, it had an Irish sound, a minor point, but because a lot of the venom comes through that accent its important. Other than that the narrator was excellent

Solid, unrelenting noir

The Big Nowhere was I think a little better as a story, but the style and narration here is excellent. A wonderful series.

Ok

Not too bad. Conroy is always such a compelling author but TBD would not rate amongst my favourites.

Black Dahlia masterpiece

Great story and intriguing mystery throughout and definitely worth the 13 hour listen. The last couple of chapters kept me listening for nearly 5 hours straight. Very well done.

Excellence

I went looking for an example of detective noir style and was referred to this book by a friend.
It is perfect, it captures the style exactly and gets under your skin in the way the case gets under the characters skins.
Recommend whole heartedly. An iconic text.
