The vicious cycle of binge eating is that it may feel comforting and soothing for a short minute, but when reality sets in, a feeling of self-hatred, guilt, shame, and regret sets in. And the worse the individual feels about themselves, the more likely the chances they will use food as a way to cope with unwanted emotions or stress. Basic ideas.
This is a basic beginning book on the very complicated area of eating and food. Some of the ideas are outdated as well. If your eating is attached to trauma the book to read/listen to is “The Body Keeps the Score” by Dr Bessel van der Kolk. It’s much more in-depth and doesn’t offer basic “practical advice” that only someone without complicated relationships to food could execute.

Tool to understand Binge Eating.
I downloaded this book after I had Gastric sleeve surgery. Overcoming the psychological side of eating is not easy and being able to have a better understanding and ideas on how to manage my life is what I was looking for.
This book has been one of the tools to help with my journey.
