A hauntingly magical love story. Once I read the first page I was spellbound. Swept along with the story I had to keep listening. The narrator had me hook line and sinker.

I could listen to a whole book of just existing in the world she created but holy wow, the (for lack of a better term) interpersonal stuff.

This was amazing. So visceral. So intense.

I have no doubt the text book is amazing but the audio - the Sheffield accent! Such an excellent book.

Loved this audio book. I found it a little slow at first but it hooked me. The performance is great and the love story refreshing!!

The book is beautifully and evocatively written, from first person POV. It’s a little wordy at times for an audiobook, so you kinda have to pay attention. It is well read, although the distinction between characters isn’t very big. The storyline itself is captivating, it’s a bit of a slow start but the sense of mystery keeps your interest. The last two thirds of the book is full of twists and turns. The ending doesn’t disappoint and doesn’t feel too crafted. Overall, a clever exploration of the role of memories, both ugly and beautiful, in our lives and it effectively grapples with the question “what are we if not our memories?”

This was my first audiobook experience- I throughly enjoyed the story and the narration from Carl really suits the book.
I found myself thinking about the book in between listening and it has lingered with me. Reminded me a little of the plot line of the movie Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.
Highly recommend. Next audiobook has a lot to live up to!!
