Worthy listen

I enjoyed listening to each of the three stories.
Each boy suffered hardship growing up due to a philandering father who had no time for any of them.
However their father was a man who made lots of money, which he doled out to each of them at certain stages in their lives.
When their father died, his Will brought all the boys, now men, together, to save the town of Baker’s Crossing and people who lived and worked there.
The men reluctantly put their differences and lives aside to fulfil the provisions of the will.
Each book sees one of the brothers finding their love interest.
It also sees them becoming a family of real brothers.

Got hooked with this collection

I am really enjoying this series and plan to continue with the Collection of books 4-6.
The narrators are all good. The story arc is interesting and had me hooked.
I do have misgivings about Book 3 though. It reiterated in detail a lot of what we'd heard in the first two books. Also their reflections tend to be repetitive. I still listened right through though.
I wish the loose plot points in Book 3 had been resolved eg what happened about legal issues involving the main males family. However, I hope to read move in Book 4

too much perfection

book 1:
Way, way to short.
First time listening to this author and I was hesitant with 3 books. But the reviews were positive so I gave it a go.
Seeing as it's a base for the rest of the book/brothers, it started out really well giving me a back story and the setup for the series. However, I felt that the animosity between the brothers was written with pretty raw negatives.
Then fairly quickly the dynamics change between all of them and the situation they're placed in, spins so quickly I'm wondering what happened or if I missed something. From then on the plot flies.
Everything is answered, organised and done due to money being no problem.
Then the H and h that had a relationship described as unattainable seems to fly into overdrive. The h is feeling totally broken and unable to trust, while the other has been fear locked for his whole life, and suddenly they chase, catch and put feelings out their like a forgive and jump in again.
The story had great ideas but just moved way to fast for me feel like I'm invested in the characters.
I couldn't find the gel to stick the chapters together.
It's all too convenient and I didn't find much excitement, just everything happening perfectly.
When money is no object it's a predictable plotline. The h asked the H if he was the flash...that's how the back half of this book felt.
In saying that, I must admit the writing and characters did begin to grow on me.
And as I adjusted to Claudia's style I also adjusted to the pace. Even though there are some cheesy bits.
If you dont mind skimming a plotline and occasionally sinking into a character and everything falling into place with perfect no expenses spared. Then this is for you. I have the other 2 in my library but not sure if I'll continue.
Narrator's were great. I love Connor and Stella they are 2 I listen to often.

A great find that you won’t regret

3 out of 7 brothers and tales of true love and family.

As the brothers relationships come together and the storyline unfolds you won’t regret exploring the stories of Hayes, Henry and Pierce.

Couldn’t put it down and all the Narrator’s were brilliant

Oh those Aldridge boys

I thoroughly enjoyed this book set. There is something that draws you into this trilogy..If I had to pick a favorite so far it would be Pierce and Leyla.
I also commend the narrators they did a wonderful job. I look forward to hearing/reading the next books.

The Baker's Creek Brothers Collection (Book 1-3)

🎧🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧🎧

Before I give you my review on these three audiobooks, I’d like to say that sometimes, although rare, listening to a story after reading it, or vice versa, can give you a different perspective of the story and/or experience. This is one of those times for me.

I read these three stories when they were released in 2020. None of the points that affected me now, about the stories, really *hit me* at that time. I have no clue why, but like I said, this sometimes happens to me when I listen to a story after I read it. I think that for me, my brain just picks up on a lot more of a story when it’s an audiobook. *shrug* My brain is weird, what can I tell ya LOL!

Loved You Once: Even though the book needed the space it took to set the stage for the series, it also took too much away from the romance. That brings me to the point that there really was no romance build and although I understand why Claudia picked Hayes to be the brother to start the series, the story felt superficial because their past was skimmed over and only told to us in a few moments in time.
This wasn’t something that stuck with me when I read this story back in 2020 but it really messed with my listening experience. Everything else about this story was done really well and as I mentioned, it set the stage for what’s to come and began the *arc* outside the individual brother’s journeys to HEA. That needed to happen, I just wished I’d experienced some of Haynes and Blaire *before* present day.

A Moment Like You: I felt just as good today listening to this story as I did back in 2020. I will say that my brain kept thinking “How is Sophia not figuring out Henry’s endgame or called him out on all his extravagance yet ….?” (it was lol out for me and I think it added to the giddiness of this entire story)

Defying Our Forever: This is the story that really started focusing more on the “couples’ journey” and I’m super stoked it did because they obviously needed it. However, full stop on Pierce’s circumstance he decided to not share with Layla before they married. I don’t even know why it was even part of the narrative. In my head, if I erased all of that, the story had plenty more circumstances that would have driven them to the place they found themselves at. I’m not saying I didn’t feel this way when I read it and that I wasn’t still rooting for them today when I listened to their story, but it just wasn’t necessary for the out come of the story, and it really put Pierce in a bad place in my head this time around and I didn’t like that one bit!

Final note, and I cannot say this enough, these stories all build on each other. Each one adds a layer to the story of the *family* and they really HAVE to be read from the beginning or you are missing out on a huge part of the Aldridge men’s lives. I don’t recommend you skip a single one and I highly recommend you read/listen to them all in order.

This is a fantastic collection!

OK, I am totally invested in this series now! The first in the Baker's Creek Billionaire Brother's series is Loved You Once and the premise has me captivated. Six brothers called back to Baker's Creek for the reading of their estranged father's will. With terms that are beyond believable, the brothers that come from different moms and have fragile relationships all have to live together for 18 months in Bakers Creek. Hayes is the second oldest and takes control of the situation, and along with his old girlfriend, Blair begin to make plans. She is the one he let get away only to marry his brother Carter. Will these two find their way back to each other through this mess of family drama? Book 2, A Moment Like You, Claudia Burgoa continues her Baker's Creek Billionaire Brothers with Henry's story. He is the hotel mogul, and he is serious and demanding! Sophia is his match in every way, and together they are running his empire. But little does she know what he has done and what he plans! And just when things are starting to come together, a wrench they don't see coming is thrown at them! Will the be able to overcome the craziness that is family? This book is packed full of humor, witty banter, misunderstanding, and a slow burning passion that had me hooked from the very start. The third book, Defying Our Forever features Pierce and Layla. Problems with their marriage since we met them, they are now in a sticky situation. When they first met, the two were inseparable. Opposites in every way, the chemistry was their glue. Pierce began to become distant though, never really revealing his past, and not contributing to their marriage. Layla was increasingly more and more unhappy and with the his final secret revealed, is not sure she can stay with him. Now with the the terms of his father's will, they are stuck together unless she signs the papers. Will they find their way back to each other? Will the two realize what is truly important? Loved their journey and the interaction with the women and brothers. This is a family I feel like I am with as Claudia Burgoa continues their saga! It's like a reunion each time I visit the Baker's Creek Billionaires.

The narration of these books is fantastic. Each book with it's carefully chosen narrators has a perfect fit for each of the characters. They sound exactly as I expect, with personalities and expressions that bring the stories and characters to life. I am enjoying each one and savoring my time with them.

Love this series

I read all the Baker’s Creek books earlier in the year and loved them so much I had to listen to the audiobooks as well. Pierce and Layla are by far my most favorite couple. I love their story.

Interesting start to a series

I really enjoyed all three books. The performances were spot on. The relationship development for each couple was well done. Each story was unique (not cookie cutter). I especially enjoyed the humor in book 2, Aaron Shedlock's performance & dry delivery of humorous punch lines was great. Overall each books' narration was spot on. Looking forward to the rest in the series.

It dragged

This is my first time listening to this author and I was a little disappointed. The stories were long and drawn out. There was a lot of backstory that just didn’t make sense and it just seemed like it dragged on. The story was ok, there was just a lot of chapters of redundant information. I usually don’t write reviews, but I just felt I needed to.

Great series!

I really enjoyed these three books and cannot wait to check out the others in the series. They each made me laugh, cry and everything in between. I loved getting to see the brother's relationships grow as they get to know each other again.
The narrators chosen for each book were spectacular!

What a terrifying family

Money is great but when it's the only thing that matters above all else, it takes time but slowly the men realise there is more to life, thank goodness there is a HEA.
