Publisher's Summary

Read by the author.

Do you long for an intimate relationship with your Creator, but He seems elusive? Perhaps it is because something utterly essential is missing—the fear of the Lord. Don't let this frighten you. Fearing God is very different than being afraid of God. It's the key to everything.

Holy Fear is not a topic you'll hear much about these days. But if you want to build a faith that stands strong through troubled times, you cannot afford to ignore this book.

In The Awe of God, John Bevere invites you to take a fresh look at what it means to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. This healthy, holy, and largely forgotten virtue is the uncommon path to a more fulfilled and fruitful life. In this book you will see why godly fear is the foundation of:

  • Wisdom, understanding, and knowledge
  • Foresight, clarity, and divine direction
  • Maturity and conformity to the image of Jesus Christ
  • Building an eternal legacy
  • Confidence, fearlessness, and security
  • Freedom from the fear of man as all lesser fears are eclipsed

If you look at the men and women in Scripture, the ones who lived and finish well all have one thing in common: they are marked by holy fear.

The Awe of God was designed to be digested slowly and intentionally. At the end of each of the 42 chapters are five tools to help you deepen your understanding and apply what the Spirit of God is teaching you. Experience the intimate relationship with God that you have always longed for by unlocking this countercultural message.

"Making It Personal” journal prompts and a scannable QR code to gain access to additional supplemental videos are included in the audiobook companion PDF download.

Must read

This book is so good, life changing and essential teaching for Christian living. I have listened twice and bought the hard copy. So much good stuff in this book. I have recommended it to family, friends and bible study groups. Love that John narrated this, he is so passionate and knowledgeable about the fear of the Lord and everything he teaches is backed up by scripture. The accompanying PDF to make it personal and guide you to apply what you learn to your own life is so good too, I printed it off and took notes on each chapter. Highly recommend.

Critical message in a perfect format

I’ve learned how key a healthy Holy fear of God is in my life, and any believers life.

The format is especially great, broken into roughly 10 minute chunks with a quick video and worksheet after each one which encourages study and discipleship unlike any other book.

From one JB to another, thank you!

WOW! What an in depth book of Holy Fear!!

Highly HIGHLY recommend every believer to read this book! JB breaks down every layer of the Fear of The Lord. The questions to ponder at the end of every chapter are a great way to examine your heart.

I've shared this with all of my friends and they too have walked away with wanting to grow in the fear of the Lord.
