Terrible

This book was terrible. The content is useless and does not have any tangible advice that can be executed.
The narrator makes it painful to listen.
Basically, it’s an autobiography I didn’t care to ever read. Waste of time and audible credit.

Don't do it!

Wasted credit. Author is a bore, just brags about her extravagant lifestyle. I thought this would be similar to "Being Dead is No Excuse " and a have some real tips about hospitality & entertaining. It was nothing like that. If you are a fan of this author her show you may have more appreciation for this.I couldn't make it through till the end.

Narrator is horrible

I could not keep up with story, the narrator kept randomly dropping her fake southern accent. Based on content this book would be better as a physical version and non an audio book.

Very enjoyable

I have always enjoyed watching Southern Charm but while I have come to dislike a few of the cast members I can honestly say Patricia has been one of my favorites from the start. This book is a great bit of fun ! It’s a mixture of Ms. Altshuls life, her experiences, some quick recipes, and lots of advice on how to conduct yourself in a more genteel manner. She covers everything from how to dress, entertain, and decorate! Really enjoyed this book. Although the narrator was very good I feel it would have been better if it had been narrated by Patricia. I highly recommend this book!

The WORST narrator

Did they ask a computer to pretend to talk like a southerner? It’s difficult to hear the story as your ears work to crawl over the exaggerated diction of a poor reader. A shame.

Thank you, Patricia.

This book truly paints a beautiful picture of the art of southern charm and living. The book is eloquent, beautifully read, funny and witty, and inspiring. As a 26-year-old southern lady from Baton Rouge, Louisiana I can attest to the ode to the slower, more elegant, more whimsical life that is quintessentially southern as portrayed in this book. Thank you, Patricia, for this enjoyable read. Thank you, Tiffany Morgan, for this enjoyable narration. This is a must-read for any southerner (or northerner!) who enjoys a curated life with fun and humor thrown in.

Excellent ideas to spice up your hospitality

We were not expecting an instruction manual of hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed the great ideas on spicing up a party in a classy way, making guests feel at home, as well as interior design. Great methods on making guests feel comfortable in a social setting as well as etiquette. Insights into the show were fun

Bless Your Heart

The story was in keeping with the Southern Charm saga. I am a southerner from Charleston but if I may give my “two cents worth” next time, PLEASE get a southerner to voice over because FAKE ACCENT are excruciatingly painful!! We may sound this way to others but to a real southerner this accent is A JOKE!!

I was not impressed

This just came off as a giant pat on the back to some white lady from South Carolina who grew up rich, married rich, and has no idea the poverty and daily struggles that actual southern women endure. If you come from old money and want to hear about how someone else as rich as you goes about their life so you can gossip about them, fine, but if you were like me and actually looking for some insight into southern style manners, this would not be for you. The author came off as pretentious and boastful. That coupled with her blatant disregard for the Holy union of marriage (a VERY UNsouthern thing) led me to believe that this woman just LARPs as a southerner when really she's just a rich snob.

On being Southern

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Being Southern myself this book brought forth memories of my very proper Mama and being a child of the South! AND contrary to those who think otherwise Miss Patricia is definitely Southern!!
