only brushes the surface

I was expecting a little more from this book. This book only touches on very basic Buddhist principles. While I did like the way these principals were broken down with real life examples I found myself frustrated with the line of questioning hoping that the author would choose deeper philosophical questions when faced with someone as insightful as the Dalai Lama. I would recommend reading one of the Dalai Lamas many books rather than this one.

sent me to sleep

Sorry this was too boring. Maybe it was the format , maybe the narration, but it put me to sleep 3 times. I couldn't even get halfway through.

Arrgorant white guy interviews Delia lama

This book is just a interview of Dalal lama by a pompous white fool, the only part I enjoyed was how a small Indian boy conned him out of money

An insight into D L, but very pro christian author

Clearly Budism has helped the Dali Lama stay calm and positive. And Budism practice has provided a foundation for mindfulness meditation. But to interrogate the Dali Lama for answers about mental health issues is a bit outside his skill & to conclude that all faiths are helpful for humanity is a bit naive & not supported by science. Read Sam Harris for a more honest perspective.

boring

You cant tell when the narrator is reading dialogue. His tone is monotonous.
The author has way too basic understanding to interview the Dalai Lama. Not as profound as I was anticipating :(

I'm glad I didn't give up on it

I found the chapters on romance, sex, and marriage, a total waste of time, and I almost wiped the book because of them and asked myself why??? However, as it went into the psychology of happiness in general, I found it quite good.
