Rediscovered by 19th-century scholars who were cataloguing Slavonic manuscripts, the Apocalypse of Abraham is known from six principal manuscripts, each preserving a vivid expansion of the Genesis narratives and a rich tapestry of angelology, mysticism, and Messianic expectation.
