Subject: You're a flippin' idiot

Good morning, my dear, naive friend.

I hope you're enjoying a breakfast of regret and sorrow.

Why?

Because you sent me to work for Dean Harper, aka a control freak in a tailor-made suit. Sure, he owns the trendiest restaurants in NYC, but c'mon, Jo. His ego makes Kanye West look like the Dalai Lama.

He's the type of guy who hears the word "no" only when it's followed by "don't stop".

Working for Dean Harper would be like selling my soul to the devil...and before you say anything, I don't care if the devil has punch-you-in-the-gut brown eyes and an ass to match. My soul isn't for sale.

Regretfully yours,
Lily

Please note: The Allure of Dean Harper is a standalone contemporary romance from USA Today best-selling author R. S. Grey with overlapping characters from The Allure of Julian Lefray. Both books can be listened to separately.

Unlikable main character

I've read or listenrd to a few RS Grey books and have always found them good for some light entertainment.
But this book I couldn't finish.
I found the main character unlikable. She was rude and unprofessional, with a whole heap of undeserved confidence and attitude.
She was given a management job she had no proven experience for because of her friend and despite being rude to her successful boss, kept it because she was hot and he wanted to sleep with her.
Didn't feel good about this character.

Not Grey's Best

Some of Grey's work is fantastic (A Place in the Sun), but I don't know what happened here. The book feels so juvenile and as if Grey just slapped something together. The characters are so unlikable and annoying, and the book is predictable and far from believable. Sara, the female narrator, has a voice like nails on a chalkboard. Skip this book!

Too bad about the narrator

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. Read it perhaps but not listen to it. The female narrator got a shrieky, loud and whiney voice that says everything but smart.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Nothing special.

How could the performance have been better?

Change female narrator.

Could you see The Allure of Dean Harper being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Perhaps nick zano and Brooklyn decker.

No one changes that much

I really like this author; however I was disappointed in this book. If these 2 characters are as strong willed at the author made you believe, there is no way the end result would occur, especially after the climactic momeny.

Deliciously sexy & funny

He's ornery and broody and she loves a challenge. What more can a reader ask for in an enemies to lovers trope than an epic clash between two characters that leads to a battle of wills. And talk about the chemistry, whoo *fans self*. This light-hearted read will be easily devoured by readers. It's funny, sexy, charming, witty and full of delicious tension.

Ugh! The narrator!

I literally couldn’t get past the 3rd chapter. The female has to be the top 5 WORST narrators I have ever heard and I have listened to hundreds and hundreds of audiobooks. I normally can get past poor narration in order to listen to the story but I just couldn’t with this one. I hope she is never used on any audiobook I come across again. Shudder.

Valley girl much?

I love RS Grey's novels. the female narrator of this book is so hard to listen to. She sounds like a 12 year old airhead. Just read the book. No nails on chalkboard voices.

Really Good!

This story was really good. I liked the friction
between Dean and Lilly. The writing was good and fun. Wish we had gotten more sex, as that was the only thing that kept it from going to the next level. It is a sweet, romantic read.

Sparky and adorable!

This is only my second book by R.S. Grey, but I am already hopelessly addicted to this enchanting storytelling, smart humor, and delightful auditory experience.

Dean and Lily were so much fun, full of sparky chemistry, a compelling push/pull dynamic, and - in the end, a whole lot of sweetness that tugged at my heart strings and took my breath away.

If you’re looking for a light, easy, super fun listen, you will not go wrong with this one!

Annoying voice and bratty heroine

The story opens up as with a bratty heroine who exploited a man for free and was super rude to him. Tf.
